A week ago I traveled to Brussels for a night and stayed at the beautiful Hygge hotel. The interior in the hotel is a mixture of old and new, blending the selection of new materials with the classical pieces while keeping the architectural elements intact. The history of the building is combined perfectly with contemporary design pieces creating a warm and comfortable experience with attention to detail.
The Danish concept Hygge can’t be translated in one single word, but the idea incorporates a feeling of cozy contentment and well-being through enjoying the simple things in life. The interior design of the many Scandinavian designers throughout the hotel enhances this feeling by using natural materials such as wood, soft colors of wool and minimalist furniture pieces and accessories.
