COZY HOME WITH LOTS OF ARTWORK

This turn of the century home gets its cozy and warm atmosphere from the different shades of grey painted walls and the carefully chosen furnishings and decoration in a natural palette. The original features such as tiled ovens, mirrored doors, stucco and high plinths encapsulate and highlight the space’s beautiful frame. I love the mint green stove in the living room, as well as the artwork on the walls, providing personality to this unique home.

LESS IS DEFINITELY MORE

Compact, deluxe living! This small apartment was completely renovated to perfection in 2018 with an eye to unify the space and focus on the details. The idea was to maximize the storage by using ceiling height cabinets in both the kitchen and the bedroom, while integrating the space with similar finishes. To create a sense of privacy for the bedroom, the steel framed glass partition visually separates the space while still allowing more daylight in.

LIGHT FLOODED APARTMENT STYLED FOR SPRING

post120418-1post120418-2post120418-3post120418-4post120418-5post120418-6post120418-7post120418-8

I love the amount of light this beautiful apartment receives, as it creates a bright and fresh atmosphere. The light grey walls throughout the entire place work perfectly with the neutrally toned furniture pieces and accessories. The interior is kept simple with vintage pieces such as the dresser in the living room and the stool as a nightstand, adding character to the place while the minimalist string shelving in the living room is the functional and contemporary eye catcher.

A COZY NIGHT IN BRUSSELS: HYGGE

A week ago I traveled to Brussels for a night and stayed at the beautiful Hygge hotel. The interior in the hotel is a mixture of old and new, blending the selection of new materials with the classical pieces while keeping the architectural elements intact. The history of the building is combined perfectly with contemporary design pieces creating a warm and comfortable experience with attention to detail.

The Danish concept Hygge can’t be translated in one single word, but the idea incorporates a feeling of cozy contentment and well-being through enjoying the simple things in life. The interior design of the many Scandinavian designers throughout the hotel enhances this feeling by using natural materials such as wood, soft colors of wool and minimalist furniture pieces and accessories.

If you want a closer look at the Hygge hotel, click here. Oh and by the way their breakfast is definitely a must have, still dreaming about my chocolate croissant! 😉
